13 stops on the road to speaking
One route, lesson by lesson. Start from scratch and move forward step by step.
First you’ll learn to introduce yourself and ask other people’s names using the verb «llamarse». Then you’ll practise the Spanish alphabet, including the ñ, and learn to spell out your full name.
You’ll learn to say where you’re from and talk about your nationality, telling countries, cities and towns apart. You’ll also practise how nationalities change in the masculine, feminine and plural, and how to use «ser de».
You’ll discover jobs and professions and learn the rules for forming the feminine, including a few exceptions. You’ll practise asking what someone does for a living and where they work.
You’ll learn the names and order of the days of the week and practise using them to say when different activities happen.
You’ll practise conjugating regular verbs ending in -ar, -er and -ir in the present tense. You’ll see their endings with examples like trabajar, comer and escribir, and use them in everyday sentences and exercises.
You’ll learn to describe what people look like using ser, tener and llevar: height, build, age, features, eyes and hair. You’ll practise by describing people and guessing characters from clues.
You’ll learn vocabulary for clothes and accessories and practise describing what someone is wearing. You’ll also work on colours, prices, preferences and comparisons to talk about clothes in different situations.
You’ll learn vocabulary to describe a city, its places and its transport. You’ll practise ir + a/en to talk about destinations and getting around, and put what you’ve learnt into practice with exercises.
You’ll learn to form reflexive verbs with me, te, se, nos, os and se, and to talk about routines like despertarse, vestirse and acostarse. You’ll also practise where to place the pronoun and how the meaning of some verbs changes.
You’ll learn to tell the uses of «ser» and «estar» apart and to choose the right verb in simple Spanish sentences.
You’ll learn the vocabulary for the different parts and rooms of a house and practise naming them in Spanish.
You’ll learn the names of the most common pieces of furniture in a home and build the vocabulary to talk about them in Spanish.
You’ll learn to use prepositions of place to say where people and things are and to describe locations in Spanish.
No. The course is designed for people starting from scratch or with only a very basic knowledge of Spanish.
Yes. If you know the basics but feel you’re missing a solid foundation, the course will help you organise and consolidate what you know.
